I’m starting the WA Branch of Bikes4life, a non-profit organisation where our aim is to collect unwanted bicycles and restore them before we send them to isolated, war ravaged communities in Northern Uganda.
Northern Uganda has suffered the fate of a brutal 22 year long war; the people are subject to extreme poverty, disease, famine and political instability. The region of the North was recently stated by a UN official as being "the most under-reported humanitarian disaster of all time."
In order to survive in post war Northern Uganda, extensive help is needed.
We are dedicated to supporting their fight for life, recovery and peace.
The donated and restored bicycles will go to former child soldiers in rehabilitation, children in orphanages and to the most isolated and needy IDP (Internally Displaced People) camps in the region to provide access to basic human needs such as food, water and vital medical aid.
We are also donating bikes to disadvantaged children and underprivileged groups in Australia. Beneficiaries range from marginalised indigenous communities to under-resourced orphanages and foster care centres, as well as victims of natural disasters.
We are looking for a workshop & storage area with a small office from where we will run our WA operations.
As we are a non-profit organisation the workshop will be funded by donations, so Im looking for someone to either donate the use of a location, or a company to fun the cost of leasing a site.
We in return are able to offer your company a sponsorship package with naming rights of a future documentary which will be aired on national tv, advertising at the open days, and will promote your company on our many social media pages.
